Is a professor of ophthalmology and vitreo retinal consultant at Cairo University.
He is the past president of the Egyptian Vitreo Retinal Society (EGVRS) and vice president of the Arab Board of ophthalmology.
He is currently the president of the Middle East Africa Vitreo Retinal Society ( MEAVRS) and chairman of Dar El Oyoun (DEO) eye hospitals.
